You Drivin’ Me Logo!!!

I began taking a class earlier this month designed to teach actors essential skills to improve their marketability. According to the instructor, a logo should be part of the marketing communications strategy of all actors. And it’s desirable that the logo be comprised of the actor’s initials. For me, that means “R” and “J.”

I’ve always liked the lower-case alphabet. On my website, I use lower-case letters almost globally. And the favicon for my site is the lower-case “r” and “j” side-by-side: rj.

So my logo would also need to be a lower-case “r” and “j”, but much bolder.

In Photoshop, I typed “rj” and toggled between the various fonts to see what “rj” I responded to. This particular “rj” caught my eye:

I did some tweaking (mind you, I am FAR from a graphic designer) and the “rj” above evolved into:

I shared the logo with a graphic designer friend of mine who simply said: “It needs to me more square.”

He went on to say that his rate was fifty bucks an hour.

Fifty bucks later...
...was born.

What do you think?
